The transformational potential of the Quran motivated the Quran Study Group to initiate an Islamic school based on Quranic principles that would provide affordable quality education for the community. The school has grown from strength to strength with one unit per grade from Grade RR to Grade The vision of Al-Asr is to create a Quranic generation of people who would act out the principals laid down by the Quran to be beneficial to society. Promote the sporting and cultural development of our learners. Integrate with learners from other government and private schools. Maintain at least a ten percent learner compliment of previously disadvantaged learners. All Praise and Glory belongs to Allah the Almighty who has blessed us with the trust and ability to serve our community by providing a dynamic Islamic and secular educational foundation for our community. We strive to provide a quality, progressive curriculum with a key goal of preparing our youth for success in this world and the hereafter. May Allah accept our efforts and always keep us aligned to His plan and pleasure. At Al Asr we have various programs to ensure our learners are nurtured from the foundation phase (Grade RR) to the secondary phase (Matric). Despite the water shortages the school stopped at nothing to make the day a spectacular event for their matriculants. As per tradition, the event began with a pre-khutba talk, which was given by one of our top academics Naeem Davis. The class arrived promptly and looking amazing in their array of colour and designs while still conforming to Islamic attire. Thereafter the awards were handed out in which learners were acknowledged for their hard consistent work throughout the examination process.
